Farmhouse Favorite Fudge

Updated: Oct 2, 2019

Happy October 1st! That means its time to start weeding through and perfecting our favorite #holidayrecipes.

We wanted to share one of our all time southern favorites. FUDGE.

My Mama always made this recipe around the holidays. She even needed to make multiple batches at a time because it never stayed too long on the plate.

Heres what you'll need to get started:

Utensils I used during this recipe:

Infrared Thermometer: https://amzn.to/2p2dYYl

Mint Kitchen Utensils: https://amzn.to/2od9T3c

White Ingredient Bowls: https://amzn.to/2nwxjR7

Stainless Steel Measuring Spoons: https://amzn.to/2p60R8N

Ingredients to make Farmhouse Fudge

Ingredients:

-4 cups white granulated sugar

-12 oz semi sweet chocolate morsels

-7 oz marshmallow fluff

-1 cup unsalted butter

-14.5 oz evaporated milk

-1 tsp pure vanilla extract

Tip: I like to use a NON STICK pot AND butter the pot. Click the photo for a link to my favorite pot for fudge making!

Adding sugar to pot.

Step 1: Add sugar, Evaporated Milk, and Butter to large pot. Heat over medium heat until thoroughly combined. Stir Often.

All ingredients in pot. Turn temperature to medium.

Stir constantly to ensure that all sugar granules are melted!

The mixture will begin to turn a golden color as the ingredients combine. Keep stirring to ensure that all sugar granules are melted and combined.

Step 2: Bring the mixture to a rolling boil. You will want your temperature to reach 236 degrees Fahrenheit.

Click the picture above for a link to my FAVORITE thermometer. I use this for everything!

Step 3: Immediately remove mixture from the stove once temperature is reached. Add in chocolate morsels and marshmallow fluff.

Step 5: Pour fudge mixture into buttered glass pan. Allow to set at room temperature. Cut into squares when set.

TIP TO FIX A MESS UP!

Fudge didn't set? Stir in 1/4 cup milk and reheat.

Did something STILL not go right? Sometimes it can be hard to make candies. Not a worry, You can reheat this mixture!

Bring all ingredients to the soft ball stage of 236 degrees Fahrenheit. Allow to cool to room temperature, You've just made a delicious chocolate caramel dip! Perfect for apples.

I encourage you to leave a comment with whether or not you plan on trying this recipe. Do you already have a favorite fudge recipe? Or, what is your favorite holiday dessert of all time?

We hope you enjoyed this tasty Tuesday treat!
